What is the difference between the Purap seat cushion and the Kiro Oasis seat cushion?
The Purap seat cushion is designed for patients who are at risk of developing pressure sores (aka bedsores). These patients include those who are in wheelchairs, the elderly and/or those with limited mobility.
The Kiro Oasis seat cushion is for those who have sciatica, bursitis, and other sitting pains. It can be used as a driving seat cushion, an office chair cushion, or on any other chairs.
The Purap seat cushion is 2 inches larger in breadth and width than the Kiro Oasis seat cushion.
Can I use the Kiro Oasis seat cushion as a wheelchair cushion?
Although they use the same underlying technology, we wouldn't recommend that. The Purap cushion has been clinically tested as a wheelchair cushion, while the Kiro Oasis cushion has not been tested for wheelchair use.
We recommend using the Purap seat cushion for wheelchair use and for preventing and healing bedsores.
Can I use the Purap seat cushion for driving and/or as an office chair cushion?
Sure. If you are looking for something slightly larger than the Kiro Oasis seat cushion for driving or office use, you can use the Purap seat cushion.
Are the products waterproof and washable?
You cannot wash the Purap and Kiro Oasis products, but most of them can be cleaned easily using cleanser wipes. For detailed information on which products are waterproof and which are not, please review the product details.
The Purap mattress does not fit the patient. It is too narrow.

Can someone else use my products?
Sharing the Purap wheelchair cushion and the Purap mattress system can cause cross contamination, so we strongly discourage sharing and reuse of those products.
For the Kiro Oasis products, you can share and reuse. However, in our experience, once people get used to using the products, they use it all the time and are unwilling to share it with anyone.
How should I care for the product?
1. Do not wash the products as they are not washable. Some of the products are waterproof and can be easily cleaned with cleanser wipes - please review product details for the relevant product.
2. Do not puncture or use brushes to clean them. Sharp objects may rupture the fluid bladder, which will irreparably damage the product and also leak the fluid inside (it is a biodegradable mineral oil, so there's nothing to worry about).
My product is damaged. What should I do?
Please stop using the product and give us a call. If you end up puncturing the fluid bladder, some of the biodegradable mineral oil may leak out. Please reach out to us.
It's leaking some viscous fluid. Should I be worried?
The fluid is a biodegradable mineral oil, so there is nothing to worry about. However, if fluid is leaking, it does mean that the fluid bladder has been punctured, which renders the product ineffective.
If this happens, you will need to replace the product. Please give us a call so we can investigate further.
While the fluid poses no risks, it can leave stains, so we recommend that you isolate it.
If I return within the 30 day return period, do I have to pay for shipping?
Yes, you will have to pay for return shipping. You will get your refund within 30 days to the same card you used to pay for the product.
